FAQ – Mana Venezia Campus Training

Before the training

1. How long does the training last? → 4 or 5 full days.
2. What are the training schedule? → From 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 1-hour break, resume from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
3. Where do we meet on the first day? → At 8:20 a.m. at the San Zaccaria (line 20) stop to take the vaporetto together to San Servolo.
4. Do I need a visa to come? → No, for European Union citizens, no visa is required.
5. Are there any recommendations for accommodation? ? → Yes, it is advisable to stay on the island of San Servolo or in the areas of Venice center close to the San Zaccaria stop (Castello, San Marco, Dorsoduro).

Access and Transport

6. What is the nearest airport? → Venice Marco Polo Airport, 8 km from the city center.
7. What are the means of transport between the airport and Venice?
   • ACTV Bus (Line 5): to Piazzale Roma, 30–45 min, ≈ €8
   • ATVO Express: 20 min, ≈ €10
   • Alilaguna Boat: 40 min to 1 hour 20 min, ≈ €15–18
   • Land Taxi: €35–45
   • Water Private taxi: fast, but expensive (€100+)
8. How much does a flight from Paris to Venice cost? → On average €200 round trip (book early!).
9. Does Campus Mana cover plane or train tickets? → No, these costs are the responsibility of the participants.

10. How long does the journey from San Zaccaria to San Servolo take? → About 10 minutes.
11. How frequent are the vaporettos? →
    • High High season (spring/summer): every 30 minutes
    Low season (fall/winter): every hour
What time does the line run? → Until 11 p.m. every day. → How much does a single ticket cost? → €2 per trip. → Is there a cheaper pass? → Yes, Campus Mana highly recommends the weekly Vaporetto pass, which is much more affordable for daily trips. → Are the vaporettos accessible to people with reduced mobility? → Yes, as are the facilities on San Servolo.

Prices and Logistics

16. What is included in the training fee? → The curriculum, tools, materials, equipment, and all PPE needed for the workshops.
17. What is not included? → Transportation (plane/train), accommodation, meals, and personal expenses.
18. What is the average price for accommodation in Venice? → Expect a minimum of €50/night (excluding high season).
19. Is there a hotel in San Servolo? → Yes, 120 rooms. From €50 to €120/night, equivalent to a 2-star standard.
20. What is the restaurant like on the island? → Very good, with a selection of Venetian and Mediterranean dishes.
21. Can I stay elsewhere than on the island? → Yes, hotels or rentals (Airbnb) in Venice – we can direct you, but Campus Mana does not handle bookings.

On the island of San Servolo

22. How big is the island? → About 5 hectares, ideal for walking or exercising.
23. Can I jog? or physical activities? → Yes, the environment is perfect for that.
24. Are there relaxation and dining areas? → Yes: restaurant, café, panini & tramezzini counter, fruit & cocktails.
25. Is there a pharmacy on the island? → The Campus Mana office has a small pharmacy with first aid and basic medications, as well as a supply of mineral water for students.
26. Is the internet connection good? → Yes, throughout the island.
27. Do I need an electrical adapter? → Yes, remember to bring an adapter compatible with European plugs if necessary.

Accessibility & Special Needs

28. I have a disability or specific need, what should I do? → Please notify the Campus Mana team in advance. We will adapt the training according to your needs. The vaporettos and infrastructure of San Servolo are accessible to people with reduced mobility.

History & Heritage

29. What is the history of the island of San Servolo? → A former monastery and then a military hospital, San Servolo is today a unique cultural and academic center in the heart of the Venetian lagoon.
