Creations for new woven materials: plant-textile hybridization. During the training dedicated to basketry, participants will be trained by a basketry artist who revisits the ancestral know-how of this Craft. The training focuses on initiation to traditional basketry techniques, to the creation and production of a sculpture.
At the end of the training, the trainee will have assimilated:
Guided by Marie Drouet, participants will explore a hybrid basketwork: sewn spiral basketwork combined with braided basketwork. They will acquire the essential gestures to create samples of volumes and textures. Each will then be able to create a sculpture mixing several techniques and materials.

Previously an interior designer, Marie Drouet did not intend to pursue her current practice. But after a lot of doubts and uncertainty, this basket weaver made her passion her profession. She speaks of her art as an entrepreneur who has been able to retrain for this artistic profession with talent.
Marie Drouet, a basket weaver, fuses the traditional art of plant weaving with a contemporary approach. From her workshop in the Val d'Oise, she collaborates with professionals in luxury, decoration and designers in search of heart-throb creations.
Marie uses traditional and rare techniques to design unique pieces. She is committed to an ecological approach by highlighting wicker, grown in France.
Marie's sensitive work is integrated into custom-made works, decors and lighting using other materials such as leather, rope, fabric and metal.
She does not hesitate to hybridize know-how through collaborations and her personal research. This work with matter gives birth to organic creations.
