Creations for new woven materials: plant-textile hybridization. During the training dedicated to basketry, participants will be trained by a basketry artist who revisits the ancestral know-how of this Craft. The training focuses on initiation to traditional basketry techniques, to the creation and production of a sculpture.

At the end of the training, the trainee will have assimilated:

• Recognize the materials and techniques of basketry
• Be introduced to the traditional gestures of basketry
• Learn the techniques of hybridization of plant and textile materials
• Use basketry as a technique to create new materials and new shapes.

Guided by Marie Drouet, participants will explore a hybrid basketwork: sewn spiral basketwork combined with braided basketwork. They will acquire the essential gestures to create samples of volumes and textures. Each will then be able to create a sculpture mixing several techniques and materials.
