This workshop offers the opportunity to discover the fascinating art of featherwork by exploring its history, materials, and techniques. It provides a chance to acquire fundamental skills—gluing, curling, marquetry, and dyeing—to create a three-dimensional piece inspired by a real or imaginary world, while developing attention to detail, patience, and manual dexterity.
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
The training offers a comprehensive approach, alternating between theoretical input, practical demonstrations, technical experimentation, and time for personal creation.
Trainees discover the traditional gestures and methods of featherwork, from the delicate handling of feathers to techniques of collage, curling, and dyeing, while being encouraged to explore their artistic sensibility.
Each participant is invited to develop their own formal language, to experiment with shapes, volumes, and textures, and to create pieces that reflect their personality and creativity, in a constant dialogue between artisanal know-how and contemporary expression.

Maud Ruby's career has been built at the intersection of fashion and materials. Trained in fashion design and pattern making at the LISAA school, she began her career in the world of textiles and accessories, collaborating with houses such as Lagerfeld Gallery Maroquinerie, Malhia Kentou, and Irina Volkonskii. Very quickly, craftsmanship became her calling: she completed her training at the Greta de la Mode in Paris, obtained her CAP (vocational qualification) as an independent candidate, and learned exceptional techniques.
Feathers then became her language. For more than five years, she trained at the iconic family workshop, Legeron, where she learned the techniques and traditions of featherwork. Today, feather artist and milliner Maud Ruby lends her expertise to major Parisian fashion houses such as Lemarié, Sandrine Bourg, and Michel Carel, as well as international couture houses like Givenchy, The Row, Dries Van Noton, and Ralph Lauren.
As the founder of her own design studio dedicated to featherwork, she pursues an approach where traditional craftsmanship engages with contemporary creation. Her work now extends to interior architecture, design, and scenography, exploring new territories where materials become space and objects, emotions.
