3D printing, particularly through filament deposition modeling, has become an essential tool in the studios of designers and interior architects. It offers the ability to model, experiment, prototype, and now manufacture objects that are both aesthetic and functional. In addition to traditional modeling or manufacturing approaches, it is essential to learn 3D modeling tools geared toward object production, as well as the use of 3D printers. Bold Design offers dedicated support to better understand these 3D modeling tools and optimize the use of 3D printers in a creative and professional context. At the end of the training, the trainee will be able to:
Through this workshop, Bold Design invites participants to explore the limits and potential of 3D printing by filament deposition modeling as a true source of creative inspiration. The focus will be on the crucial parameterization stage, located between modeling and manufacturing. By manipulating the specific parameters of slicing software, participants will be invited to subvert the algorithms to generate new shapes, textures, patterns, and functions.
Like a craftsman who appropriates their tool to reveal its full potential, Bold Design guides participants through an experimental approach aimed at developing a personal aesthetic language. Each participant will be able to design a sensitive and functional object, or a collection of unique objects.
The creations can be entirely printed or hybrid, combining 3D printing with materials, objects, or fragments found on site. This process will leverage the precision and adaptability of 3D printing to imagine elements that complement or augment existing objects. Bold Design thus highlights one of the great strengths of 3D printing: its ability to transform, enrich or extend the use of an object.

Founded in 2009, the Bold Design studio, led by William Boujon and Julien Benayoun, has pursued a unique path in the creation of objects, furniture, and spaces. Friends and partners since their studies, they combine complementary visions to create designs that blend style and technique, boldness and simplicity, research and communication.
The studio fosters a constant dialogue between ideas, materials, and people, a crossover of worlds that gives rise to innovative projects. Since 2016, it has distinguished itself with its 3D printing creations, such as plant fiber vases and micro-architecture projects using leather waste, works that have been recognized by the Ministry of Culture's "New Worlds" program.
In 2019, several of their works were acquired by the National Center for Plastic Arts (CNAP), marking institutional recognition that was confirmed with the "Symbiose" exhibition in 2021. Since 2018, the studio has continued its experiments in Drôme, at 8Fablab, where it explores 3D printing of sustainable materials such as clay.
Passionate about craftsmanship and traditional know-how, William and Julien participated in the "VISION AND TRADITION" residency program in 2023, co-organized by the Institut Français and the Institut d'Amérique Latine during Mexico City Design Week. In collaboration with Mexican master basket weaver Cirilo Martinez, they explore the contemporary uses of natural fibers such as wicker and rattan.
Through workshops for students and professionals, they emphasize the importance of collaboration and sharing expertise, convinced that dialogue and collective experience enrich the practice of design.
Bold Design is a versatile, constantly monitoring design agency. It places social and environmental issues at the heart of its work, regularly collaborating with eco-design agencies to anticipate choices related to manufacturing processes and materials. With no preferred technique or material, the duo chooses the methods best suited to each project, working closely with the client and team members, while relying on a network of experts with diverse skills.
In France, AFDAS is currently the only skills operator (OPCO) that can support training in Venice, under certain conditions.
This funding is primarily aimed at intermittent performers and affiliated or subject artist-authors.
If this applies to you, contact your AFDAS advisor in advance to prepare your application. Campus Mana can provide the necessary documents upon request.
The price includes training as well as materials and personal protective equipment. However, it does not cover transportation, accommodation, or full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
