Salomon Summer Camp

From 21/07/2025 to 25/07/2025

The Program

Learning objectives

Dive into the heart of inclusive innovation alongside Salomon designers.

This training is much more than a workshop: it's an immersive experience where design, technology, and inclusion come together to imagine the sports equipment of tomorrow. You'll explore innovative solutions for people with hearing loss, activating the body as a new tool for perception, sensation, and communication.
You'll work hand-in-hand with designers from Salomon's design office, who will guide projects and identify talent capable of challenging the norms of disabled sports.

Designers, engineers, ergonomists, makers, enthusiasts: if you want to use your skills to drive impact, innovation, and inclusion, this training is your springboard.

Content of the program

Salomon is offering an immersive and innovative five-day training program focused on disabled sports and deafness. This initiative aims to explore inclusive design solutions specifically tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing people in sports, particularly in outdoor environments.

The objective is twofold: to design equipment that meets the requirements of disabled sports while enhancing sensory perceptions during exercise, in order to compensate for hearing limitations through an enhanced physical and sensory approach.

Participants will have access to a selection of samples and prototypes developed by Salomon. This equipment, ranging from running shoes to backpacks, technical clothing, skis, and helmets, has been specially designed to meet the needs of both disabled and able-bodied athletes.

Through practical workshops, field experimentation phases, and collaborative brainstorming sessions, participants will be encouraged to reflect on, test, and co-develop innovative ideas to improve the accessibility, performance, and comfort of sports equipment.

This training is part of a broader effort to advance sports design practices toward greater inclusion, placing people, body sensations, and innovation at the heart of the creative process.

At the end of the training, the trainee will be able to:

Understand the real needs of deaf or hard-of-hearing runners and skiers
Acquire skills in designing and adapting inclusive equipment
Develop practical experience in prototype testing
Gain experience in the innovative design approach applied to disabled sports
Learn to collaborate with experts to develop adapted solutions
