Jongjin Park invites participants to explore the sculptural and material potential of ceramics, drawing on the creative possibilities of the layered techniques of “Artistic Stratum.” Through hands-on practice, demonstrations, and guided experiments, participants will learn to develop new sensibilities regarding materials.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Over the course of five days, Jongjin Park will guide his students in creating ceramic pieces with a paper-like appearance. Throughout the week, participants will focus on the experiments characteristic of Strate Artistique, ranging from cubic forms to containers, and including the application of layered textures.
The workshop will conclude with a group feedback and critique session, allowing everyone to share their experiences and reflect on their work in a constructive setting.
The teaching approach combines theory, demonstrations, and hands-on workshop practice. Here, the focus will be on experimentation, creativity, and active participation, in an environment that fosters discussion and collaborative work.

Jongjin Park, a South Korean ceramic artist born in 1982, explores the intersection between apparent fragility and unexpected strength.
By layering paper and porcelain slip, he creates forms that oscillate between the organic and the artificial, questioning the boundary between illusion and reality.
A graduate of Kookmin University (BFA, MFA, PhD) and Cardiff Metropolitan University (MA Ceramics), he exhibits internationally at prestigious events such as Design Miami, PAD, Salon Art+Design, EMERGE Singapore, and Collect, as well as at the Florian Daguet-Bresson and J. Lohmann galleries.
His work combines artisanal craftsmanship with collectible design. His collaborations with Bottega Veneta, AderError, Gentle Monster, and Lexus reflect his interest in the dialogue between tradition, innovation, and contemporary technologies.
A professor at Seoul Women’s University in the “Crafts & Collectable Design” program, Park continues to explore the role of the hand and materials in the age of artificial intelligence, continually reinventing ceramics through a resolutely contemporary lens.
