This training program offers the opportunity to learn how to make leather goods from A to Z, respecting the rules of the art and artisanal traditions. You will be trained to master all the stages of manufacturing, from design to finishing, including cutting, assembly and sewing.
You will learn to select leathers, working materials and accessories with care, according to precise criteria, in order to guarantee the quality and aesthetics of each creation. The emphasis will be placed on learning rigorous working techniques, while allowing you to express your own sensitivity and creativity through your creations.
Finally, you will be guided in the realization of a professional project, by developing the skills necessary to transform an idea into a finished and functional product, ready to be presented or marketed.
This training will allow you to perfect your know-how and acquire complete expertise in the field of leather goods.
At the end of the training, the trainee will be able to:
Design templates
Cut leather using templates
Sew using the saddle stitch
Polish (hot finishing)
Use a crimper to apply snaps
Under the direction of Muriel Rochetti-Davant, learners will be trained in creating templates with axes of symmetry, interpreting a technical drawing and reading an operating range. In a practical way, they will become familiar with cutting, assembly, shaping, gluing and sewing techniques, applied to small leather goods.

Tidying up the workshop
With 18 years of experience in a subcontracting company for the luxury sector, Muriel Rochetti-Davant has developed in-depth expertise in leather goods by working for prestigious brands such as Hermès, Vuitton, Moynat, Chanel and Cartier. Her curiosity and constant desire to learn also led her to specialize in the design of high-end office items, as well as in the techniques of the saddler-harness maker profession.
Thanks to these experiences, she naturally wanted to pass on her excellent know-how. In 2016, she created the “CuiRedavant” workshop in Semur-en-Auxois (Côte-d'Or), a space dedicated to the training of future saddlers-leatherworkers and saddlers-harness makers. Today, the workshop has a 100% success rate in the CAP exams.
Although the training takes place in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, Muriel Rochetti-Davant stands out for her high standards and expectations of her learners, in order to support them towards success. Her goal is to provide a solid foundation for her students' professional future, whether it is obtaining the CAP, employability or autonomy in carrying out personal projects.
