Sophie Dariel was born in Paris. She holds a degree in international communication from the University of Paris X and a Master’s degree in Chinese language from Shanghai Normal University. She lived and worked in China from 2000 to 2016, before returning to Paris and then recently moving to Venice, where she now lives.

With many years’ experience in project management within the creative industries, Sophie has built her career across Europe, China and Latin America. Her expertise and network have enabled her to collaborate with leading figures in the art and creative worlds, including Pearl Lam, whom The New York Times has ranked among the 100 most influential figures in contemporary art.

Throughout her career, Sophie has worked for prestigious houses and institutions such as Hermès, Rothschild, Hennessy and Condé Nast, and has supported renowned designers and creators, including Andrée Putman, Martin Szekely, Mattia Bonetti, Rena Dumas and Thomas Dariel (Dariel Studio).

An artist all her life, Sophie draws inspiration for her work from her travels and her family life. She creates figurative and abstract motifs for the decorative arts, blending artistic sensibility, cultural influences and personal experiences.

In 2023, Sophie and her husband, Thomas Dariel, founded Campus MaNa in Burgundy, a Qualiopi-certified vocational training centre dedicated to art, crafts, design and architecture. Conceived as a place for knowledge-sharing and exchange, Campus MaNa brings together leading professionals from the creative industries, drawn from all over the world.

In 2026, Campus MaNa opened its second campus in Venice, on the island of San Servolo, thereby reaffirming its international focus and its ambition to build bridges between craftsmanship, contemporary creation and different cultures.
